- Is it really free?
- Pay as you go is the default and has no monthly fee. It costs 1% of rent collected online through Taberna, and only that. A building where rent is cash and checks pays nothing, forever. The flat plans are for buildings that would rather pay a known number, plus half a percent of rent collected online.
- What happens when I outgrow a tier?
- We tell you, and you move up. We never charge overage per unit.
- Do tenants pay anything?
- Not unless the building decides so. The portal and storefront pages are included in the building's plan. Online payments carry two fees, the processor's cost (bank transfer 0.8%, at most $5; card 2.9% + 30¢) and Taberna's share, and by default the building pays both. One switch in Billing bills them to tenants instead, as one line at checkout, the way most rent software does. Cash and checks never carry a fee.

- How does pay-as-you-go work?
- No monthly fee. When a tenant pays rent online through Taberna, 1% comes out of the payment. In any month that adds up to the Starter price, it stops there. Rent paid by cash or check costs nothing.
- What's the half a percent on flat plans?
- Taberna's share of rent collected online: $3 on a $600 payment. It's how a $129 plan can run a 30-unit building. The building pays it by default, or bills it to tenants with the processor's fee. Nothing on cash or checks.
